Kildare Counselling Service

Accessible, person centred, therapeutic support for you or your loved ones.

Our approach

Established in 2010, we are a professional service made up of Counsellors & Psychotherapists registered with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). We use an Integrative and Humanistic approach to our work, meaning that you will meet with therapists who have many skills and who always ensure you feel at the centre of your own therapy journey.

This holistic approach helps to enable clients to develop a healthy and strong sense of self, focus on their strengths, find meaning and to explore their feelings in a warm, safe and confidential environment.

“We think we listen, but rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know.”- Carl Rogers, A Way of Being, 1980.

“When the person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity- then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship offered by an empathic person provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give another.”

— Carl Rogers
